JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and plan in advance, to ensure efficient vessel clearance for guests and crew upon arrival into and departure out of ports; manage all clearance related matters and maintain communication with port agents. 
• Ensure that visitor lists are accurate and up-to-date, and port authorities are informed accordingly.
• Facilitate the prompt processing of legal documents (guest manifest; crew list) with port authorities by preparing all paperwork, as required; maintain guest and crew manifests for onboard safety regulations and international requirements (i.e. Shore Passes etc.). 
• Responsible for guest passports, Immigration Inspections and ensuring that all guests meet the visa requirements for each port-of-call. 
• Maintain a good relationship with Port Agents & local authorities at the respective ports-of-call to ensure cooperation with all officials whilst onboard. 
• Assist with check-in procedures, on embarkation day. 
• In conjunction with the Guest Services Manager, Hotel Purser, Medical Team and Human Resource (HR) Manager, assist with guest and crew medical disembarkations. 
• Assist the Crew Purser with completing the sign on/off process for all crew members in MXP and ensure that all guest and crew passports hold valid visas and all necessary information is accurately loaded onto MXP. It is the HR Manager’s duty to provide support, when necessary. 
• Assist the Crew Purser with organizing transfer and/or accommodation for crew members that are signing on/off. 
• Support the Crew Purser with ensuring that all crew passports and Seaman’s Books are maintained and valid.
• Provide the necessary information to the onboard team, in accordance with port requirements. 
• Perform additional duties, upon instruction from supervisors.

JOB REQUIREMENT

BACKGROUND

• Must be Vietnamese citizens.

• A required minimum of 2 years’ experience in the role (Pursers Department) onboard a ship.
• Fluent in English - must be able to address any kind of information in an adequate manner with excellent oral and written English communication skills – the ability to speak an additional language is an advantage.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of clearance and visa requirements in international waters, for both guests and crew members.
• Must have experience in leading multi-cultural teams; flexible, stress resistant, committed team player; must demonstrate the ability to work independently.
• Strong administration skills are necessary; Must be well-organized and detail oriented.
• Proficient with PC based databases, spread sheets, and word processing systems is required; must demonstrate the ability to work independently. 
• Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards are required.

• Able to confirm for clean background/ reference check completed upon proposal.

SALARY AND OTHER BENEFIT

BENEFITS

• Monthly salary is paid via on-board Visa card, no tax deduction.

• Five (5) paid vacation days for each month worked is included in the salary; this is accumulated and only paid at the end of the contract.

• Health insurance is provided during the contract period (not applicable to vacation).

• All crew have life insurance at $100,000 death in service benefit.

• No charge for crew laundry facilities, including detergent dispensers.

• Free Wi-fi on-board.

• Medical and visa expenses will be reimbursed on the first payroll against original receipts.

• The company covers flights and transfer to the vessel from and to your nearest international airport of your country of residence; hotel overnight is optional for long-distance travels.

• Uniform is provided; including shoes and safety equipment, and maintained by our main laundry.

• Two-crew only recreational areas (indoor and outdoor).

• Access to the guest gym after 10 PM.
